Braille is a system of tactile reading and writing using raised dots that can be read with the fingers by people who are blind or who have low vision. This interactive page lets users touch a physical display of braille words that form a sentence, users can learn what each letter means while still experiencing what those who are visually impaired use as a communication tool. The raised dots are placed on top of conductive paint, which are connected to aligator clips and a certain arrow key on the Makey Makey that will display its translation on screen. Move your finger across the surface to see what each sentence means. This particular passage uses Grade 2 braille, where words are contracted and abbreviated making it faster and more efficient to read and write.
